PT Manager's Radar Wheel Scores A Client Twice So Change Shows On One Picture
From the FASTER syllabus: this article is taught in full in PT Manager, free with any FASTER course →

In short: PT Manager's Radar wheels let a trainer score any set of components out of ten and draw them as a spider graph. The trainer names the wheel, picks a template such as Lifestyle, Athletic qualities or Recovery and readiness, or writes their own, attaches it to a client, and can send it to the client to fill in. Each re-score is a new round drawn over the earlier ones, so change shows as growth on one picture. The trainer scores objective items themselves and the client scores subjective ones.
The short version
A client says things are better. A trainer believes them, and would love to be able to show it. The first score is the part that usually goes missing, because nobody wrote it down. PT Manager has a tool for exactly that: the radar wheel. Score a set of things out of ten, draw them as a spider graph, and score again later. Every round sits on the same picture.
Key Takeaways
- Any set of components is scored 0 to 10 and drawn as a spider graph.
- A re-score is a new round drawn over the old ones, so change shows as growth.
- The trainer scores objective items, the client scores subjective ones.
How a wheel is made
On the Radar wheels page the trainer names the wheel, for example a client's lifestyle wheel with the month in the name, and starts from a template or from blank. The templates include Lifestyle, Athletic qualities, Recovery and readiness, Strength lifts, Values, Resilience, Wellbeing and Readiness to change. Each spoke is phrased as something a person can rate, because every spoke is scored out of ten, with higher meaning better.
The wheel attaches to a client. The editor shows a live graph, and a component can be added at any point.
Who scores what
The editor says it directly. Objective things, such as athletic tests, movement and strength, the trainer scores. Subjective things, such as lifestyle, mood and goals, the client scores. The trainer can send the wheel to the client, who fills it in on their own page of PT Manager and gets sent back to their training space afterwards.
The re-score is the point
The button that matters is New re-score. It adds a round, scored again today, drawn in a new colour over the first. A first round on its own is a baseline. Two rounds together are a comparison, on one page, with the client able to see it too.
This is the practical end of an idea taught on the FASTER Sports Scientist course: "it worked for my client" gets stronger when there is a recorded starting point and an honest look at what would have happened anyway. The wheel will not settle that on its own, and it makes sure the starting point exists. For anyone coming through the Level 2/3 route, the same tool turns the goal-setting taught on the Level 3 certificate into something a client can watch move.
What it replaces
Without it, the baseline lives in a notebook, a photo of a whiteboard or somebody's memory. With it, the trainer has one page per client that shows the first score and every round after, and a print option with the FASTER mark in the foot.
