The short answer
What counts as a personal trainer course in the UK?
A personal trainer course is a Level 2 plus a Level 3 qualification, which together make you a Certified Personal Trainer. With FASTER that route is £1,250, delivered through FOCUS Awards and recognised by CIMSPA, taught online by the people who wrote it.
The two parts
What a UK personal trainer course actually is
Almost every UK personal trainer qualification is built the same way: a Level 2 to get you on the gym floor, then a Level 3 to make you a trainer. Together they are the Certified Personal Trainer qualification, the one most people mean by a personal trainer course.
Level 2
Gym Instructor. The foundation. £600 with FASTER.
Level 3
Personal Trainer. Added to Level 2 it makes you a Certified PT. £650 on its own if you already hold Level 2.
Certified PT (Level 2 + 3)
The full route from scratch, and the one most people choose. £1,250 all in.

Should you study online or in a classroom?
FASTER is online and self-paced, which is how most people now qualify. It is self-paced with no fixed deadline. Most people take 12 to 20 weeks; some take time off and finish in around four weeks, and you can take as long as you need. FASTER handles assessor availability, so you are not left waiting.
You are assessed one to one, at your pace, with a tutor you can reach on email, WhatsApp or Zoom. So studying online does not mean studying alone.
Before you pay
