Honest answers from the people who have trained UK personal trainers since 2006.

The short answer

What counts as a personal trainer course in the UK?

A personal trainer course is a Level 2 plus a Level 3 qualification, which together make you a Certified Personal Trainer. With FASTER that route is £1,250, delivered through FOCUS Awards and recognised by CIMSPA, taught online by the people who wrote it.

Online or in person

Should you study online or in a classroom?

FASTER is online and self-paced, which is how most people now qualify. It is self-paced with no fixed deadline. Most people take 12 to 20 weeks; some take time off and finish in around four weeks, and you can take as long as you need. FASTER handles assessor availability, so you are not left waiting.

You are assessed one to one, at your pace, with a tutor you can reach on email, WhatsApp or Zoom. So studying online does not mean studying alone.
