Today's Two Posts Both Named One Option From A List, And PT Manager's Dice Rolls The Same List

In short: Today's first post ran the four-step muscle method on a bear crawl, one exercise out of an unlimited list the same method can be pointed at. Today's second named Contrast Training, one named block out of ten in Movement Trainer's Skeletons and Blocks system. Both posts prove a trainer is never actually short of specific things to programme, but knowing there are ten blocks and an unlimited exercise list doesn't help mid-session if none of them come to mind on the spot. PT Manager's Dice and Wheel (/pt-manager/dice) puts a roll between knowing the system and using it right now: the Block Die carries all ten named blocks, including Contrast, the FASTER Five Skills Die carries the movement patterns including locomotion, the pattern behind today's bear crawl, and the Wheel of Variables rolls a concrete progression (weight, tempo, reps, angle and more) from the course's own list. Everything rolled lands in the session with one tap.

Two posts, one list each

A bear crawl is one exercise out of an unlimited number the four-step muscle method can be run on. Contrast Training is one block out of ten named blocks in Movement Trainer's Skeletons and Blocks system. Neither post is short on specifics, which is the whole point of both, but knowing a list exists and reaching for the right item on it mid-session, with a client waiting, are two different skills.

What gets rolled

PT Manager's Dice and Wheel, at /pt-manager/dice on the Programming shelf, turns both of today's lists into something a trainer can roll rather than recall. The Block Die carries all ten named blocks from Skeletons and Blocks, Contrast sitting alongside giant strength-power, wave sets, cluster sets and the rest, each with its own worked example straight from the course. The FASTER Five Skills Die carries the five movement patterns an exercise can be built around, locomotion being the pattern behind today's bear crawl. The Wheel of Variables rolls a concrete progression, weight, tempo, angle, rest and more, from the fourteen the course teaches, each landing with a plain coaching line rather than a bare word.

Where PT Manager puts it

Everything rolled drops straight into an ordered session list, and one tap turns that list into a live programme card in the Programmer. Nothing about it is generated by AI, and nothing about it replaces the trainer's own judgement. It's John's system, the same ten blocks and five patterns from today's two posts, put somewhere a hand can reach them between reps instead of only somewhere a memory has to.

What to do next

PT Manager opens the moment a trainer signs up with any FASTER course, free for life. Today's second post, Movement Trainer (AFT), is where Contrast Training and the rest of the Skeletons and Blocks system are taught in full.

Frequently asked

Does the dice replace a trainer's own programme design?

No, it rolls a starting point from the trainer's own system faster than remembering all ten blocks or every named movement pattern mid-session. What gets built around the roll, the loads, the reps, the client it's for, is still the trainer's call.

Why is Contrast one of the faces on the Block Die rather than its own tool?

Because it's one of ten named shapes in the same system, the same way a bear crawl is one of an unlimited number of exercises the muscle method works on. The dice exists precisely because a system with many correct answers still needs a fast way to land on one.

Does this connect to today's earlier two posts?

Yes. The bear crawl post named one pattern the Five Skills Die also carries. The Contrast Training post named one block the Block Die also carries. Today's two teaching points and today's PT Manager feature are the same system, read three different ways.
