Today's Two Posts Both Watched The Same Chain Of Joints, And PT Manager's Tracker Draws It Live

In short: Today's first post ran the four-step muscle method on a step-up and found the working leg doing almost the whole job while the other leg does something different, briefly pushing then swinging through. Today's second named the whole chain that absorbs a landing, cartilage and fluid in the knee and ankle, muscles and tendons controlling the drop, and the spine's own discs taking their share further up. Both depend on being able to see a chain of joints working together, not just the nearest one. PT Manager's tracker does that live: a skeleton overlay reads the joints of a real client moving, on-device, so the chain is watched as it happens instead of reconstructed afterwards from what a trainer thinks they saw.

Two posts, one chain to watch

A step-up where one leg drives and the other swings through. A landing where the ankle, the knee, the hips and the spine each take their own share of the force, in order. Today's first post and today's second post are both about a chain of joints doing different, coordinated jobs in the same movement, not one joint working alone. Naming that chain from a textbook is one skill. Watching it happen on a real person, live, at normal speed, is a different one.

Where the same chain gets watched live

PT Manager's tracker lays a skeleton over a client on camera, on their own device, and reads the joints as they move. It isn't a preset that only understands a squat or a press. A skeleton-only mode follows whatever's happening, a step-up's working leg and trailing leg, a landing's chain from ankle to spine, without needing the movement to match a template first.

Naming it afterwards, or watching it happen

A trainer who's only ever named the muscle chain from memory, after a set is finished, is reconstructing what they think they saw. A trainer running PT Manager's tracker during the set is watching the actual chain move, joint by joint, while the client is still doing it. Same chain, same joints, the difference is whether it's remembered or seen.

Frequently asked

Does the tracker work on any exercise, or only the ones with a preset?

It runs a skeleton-only mode on anything, not just the squat, press and hinge presets, so a step-up or a landing can be tracked the same way.

Why bring up a muscles post and a landing post in the same PT Manager piece?

Both are about seeing a chain of joints do different jobs at once rather than watching one joint in isolation. The tracker is built to show exactly that, live, over a real client.

Does this connect to today's earlier two posts?

Yes. The first post found the working leg and the trailing leg of a step-up doing two different jobs. The second named every joint that shares a landing. The tracker is where a trainer watches that chain happen in real time instead of naming it after the fact.
