PT Manager's Movement Demonstrator Lets A Client Turn A Muscle's Route Around And Look At It
From the FASTER syllabus: this article is taught in full in PT Manager, free with any FASTER course →
In short: Today's first post covered the two kinds of motivation in the Level 3 course, and today's second covered how Movement Coach teaches a muscle's route from one bone to another. PT Manager's Movement demonstrator is the tool that puts that in front of a client: a 3D model of the FASTER movement patterns with a body or skeleton view, prime movers lit up and live joint angles. A trainer can describe a movement and then show it, which helps a client who learns by looking. PT Manager opens the moment you sign up with FASTER, and adding real clients unlocks once you pass a course.
The gap between saying it and showing it
A trainer can say that the biceps runs from the shoulder blade to the forearm. A client nods. Whether the picture landed is anybody's guess.
Today's first post covered the two kinds of motivation in the Level 3 course, and the second covered how Movement Coach teaches a muscle's route from one bone to another. This post is about the PT Manager tool that puts that second idea in front of a client.
What the Movement demonstrator is
PT Manager's Movement demonstrator is a 3D model of the FASTER movement patterns. It has a body view and a skeleton view, prime movers lit up, and live joint angles. A trainer opens it on a phone or tablet beside the client, turns the model to the side, front or back, and points at the thing being described.
That fits the Movement Coach habit of picturing a muscle's route. The trainer pictures it, then the client sees it too.
Where it helps in a session
- A client asks why a muscle is working. Show the model, then say the role: agonist, antagonist, synergist or fixator.
- A new client wants to know what a movement is. Turn the model so the joint angles are readable, then do the movement together.
- A client learns by looking. The visual does the explaining, and the trainer's words sit alongside it.
It sits well beside the live skeleton tracker. The model shows what a movement looks like in general, and the tracker shows what this client's body is doing.
The access model
PT Manager opens the moment you sign up with FASTER, so you can explore and set it up in your own name straight away. Adding real clients unlocks when you pass a course. There are two routes in. New to the industry, the Certified Personal Trainer course (Level 2 and 3) brings PT Manager in from the start of a career. Already qualified, the Movement Trainer course or anything above brings you in without repeating Level 2 and 3.
It is free, and nobody takes a cut of your sessions. Several paid apps charge a slice for tools like this one, and a trainer's skills should stay the trainer's.
